Every once in a while an exceptional and incredible talent impacts the gospel industry who leaves an indelible imprint. McLeod a Contemporary Inspirational Music artist and rapidly expanding musical virtuoso have done just that! What a supersized talent the Lord has given to His kingdom! His gifts and talents continue to revolutionize the gospel music industry. Moreover, he has provided inevitable proof of his great talents and an even greater future which is impressively exhibited on his current CD project “That’s Where You Found Me.”
McLeod was born with a compelling melodic intrinsic distinctive which enabled him to sing as far back as he can remember. God’s favor rested upon him in phenomenal measure during his developmental years.
In 1992, McLeod’s exceptional Solo gospel journey commenced with his spectacular win of the 3rd Annual Soundtrack Contest sponsored by a local Christian Book Store.
A quick glance at McLeod’s repertoire is quite impressive and well-documented. His brilliant performances demonstrate his enormous sensitivity, musicality and expressiveness with his musical proficiency. McLeod’s list of performances validates his authenticity. McLeod has been a member of two recording choirs, Alvin Darling & Celebration and Beverly Mondey-Collins & Kerygma. Both groups afforded him opportunities to be featured on lead vocals.
Distinctively, he has performed with celebrated legendary artists such as Patti Labelle, Billy Preston, Yolanda Adams, Dorothy Norwood, Douglas Miller and Pastor Shirley Caesar, to name a few.
McLeod holds the elite recognition of being the McDonald’s Gospelfest 2004 Soloist winner in Madison Square Garden. This was one of his highest musical achievements. He was the Runner-up in the Male Soloist category in 2005 and 2008. Since then, McLeod has worked diligently on vocal range, performance delivery and his lyric writing skills, all of which has helped him become what he is today -- a child of GOD who creates and sings the praises of GOD for all God’s people to hear. He declares, “Singing God’s praise and lifting Jesus’ name in song is a gift I share with those listening … through which we’re all blessed.”
Other outstanding performances are: a featured singer in the Musical Revue “Celebrate Me Home,” starring Ms. Darlene Love at the Union County Arts Center, Rahway, New Jersey. He has performed in several venues such as the Gospel Music Workshop of America Convention in Chicago, Illinois, the Statute of Liberty 100th Birthday Salute at the Giants Stadium in New Jersey, the Apollo Theater, Harlem, New York; Carnegie Hall, New York City, New York and numerous churches up and down the east coast and throughout the New Jersey/New York metropolitan area.
Not only is McLeod a skillful world-class professional vocalist, his talents transcending various creative art forms such as a vocalist, lyricist, personal poet and a puzzle author. He simultaneously projects his uncompromising vocal talents and musical gifts to an unprecedented level of artistic achievement.
McLeod is a member and deacon of The First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens (FBCLG), Somerset, New Jersey under the dynamic leadership of his pastor Rev. Dr. DeForest B. Soaries, Jr. He takes an active role in the FBCLG Music and Arts Ministry as a member of the Higher Calling praise team, the Voices of Praise adult choir and the FBCLG Music and Arts Mass Choir. One thing McLeod knows and attempts to demonstrate in his walk is: “it's not about him, but what God accomplishes through him that matters.”
McLeod’s brilliant level of achievement was distinctively and tastefully done on his debut project “Finally.” This project readily demonstrated his possession of a rare, yet liberating talent which is uniquely his. His voice is powerful and loaded with impeccable vocal artistry, masterfully oriented. McLeod believes through music God’s healing power can penetrate brokenness, confusion and guide the body, mind, and spirit back to safe ground. What’s done out of Love by way of Prayer, through Faith makes it is possible for Joy to come “every morning.”
His current project “That’s Where You Found Me” is not only Praise and Worship Music at its best. It is a fresh approach to sacred composition. This project is a vehicle wherein the voice of God can be revealed through song for everyone to hear who loves the truth! At this point in worship, you cry loud to God, “We Worship You.” Ascending higher and lost in the spirit you genuinely say, “I’m Determined.” The depths of God’s refreshing presence solidifies your joy in worshipping Him and you simply say “Taste and See” that the Lord is good!
